A lot of people are asking themselves what they can do to protect the planet Earth's future and to stop taking from it and burning fossil fuels. Well the simple solution is to first of all use as little energy as possible. Use energy saving light bulbs. Turn the lights off when you leave the room, don't leave appliances like computers on overnight. Invest money into renewable energy research companies. And last but not least be proactive and install solar panels onto your home!
What do we mean when we talk about green power? Well green power is another name for renewable energy that doesn't take from the Earth. Things like solar power that capture energy from the sun are green power although this one could also be called yellow power! Tidal energy is green power because it doesn't harm the planet! Also wind energy is green power too! There are several others too than can be called green power. All we need to do is harness as much of it as possible!
70% of planet Earth is made up of water. Much of this water is constantly on the move. The tides go in and out and the rivers flow. This is pure energy and it should be our goal as human beings and our futures to capture as much of this energy as possible! All we need to do is place turbines that captures this water energy all over Earth and we'll never need to worry about energy again!
Water for energy? Can it be done? Of course! Anything that moves creates energy and water is no different. The beautiful thing about garnering energy from things like the ocean tides and rivers is that it provides a never ending source of energy. The water flows because of gravity so by placing turbines to capture this energy on every single river and ocean floor then we can amass huge amounts of energy from water!
For us as human beings and our current way of life we really rely on electricity to get us through our day. Need a cup of tea? Boil a kettle using electricity. Need a shower? Use the hot water that was heated with electricity. So it's not hard to calculate that we need a lot of electricity. But did you know that we can create this electricity using renewable energy from things like wind, solar and even the tides? It's true, so start looking into ways to power your home with these sources and help save Earth!
We all know that energy is running out which is why it's so important that we look for better ways of creating new, clean and renewable energy sources. This is why schools should be creating projects for children to come up with ideas to inspire them to build a future that they and their grand children can be proud of. Right now 10% of our energy comes from renewable energy but if we spark the interest of the right minded children then who knows, maybe in a few years time one of them will change the world! So teachers, start making projects!
We all need carbon which is why it's important that we take the time to calculate our carbon needs. Everything is made up of carbon atoms including us. Carbon can also be used for energy. This is why it's important if you want to not rely on carbon for fuel that you start researching clean and renewable energy sources that can take carbons place!
So I thought you would all find this interesting! According to this University of Michigan article we are actually turninf more and more to renewable energies although we are still extremely reliant on non renewable sources. 36% of our energy consumption comes from petrolium. 29% from natural gas. 16% from coal 9% from nuclear 10% from renewables. That means renewable energy has overtaken nuclear energy which is positive news! Lets keep this going in the right direction.
One of the biggest threats to mother nature and planet Earth is pollution. Burning fossil fuels for our energy needs causes massive amounts of pollution which not only harm the earth but nature and even human beings feel the effects. So isn't it about time that we got rid of this archaic old way of thinking and started using clean energy? Clean renewable energy is all around us yet we aren't using it! I say that we ditch the oil and start building more solar farms and wind mills.
One thing that we all need in these modern times is hot water. Years ago if we wanted hot water for a shower or a bath we'd have to spend ages boiling it up! This used to to take forever but nowadays it's all done instantly for us. The thing is that it takes up a lot of resources and fuel to constantly heat our water and homes which is why it's important that you look into generating your own power.
