The Sustainable Building Coalition in Austin, Texas, is a network of individuals interested in sustainable and ecological building, design and development. The Sustainable Building Coalition provides educational services through programs, site visits, media, exhibits, video showings, and special events. Members frequently conduct workshops on various aspects of the built environment and its design. SBC encourages members as well as specialists to share their wisdom with one another. The SBC holds regular meetings and events.

PV Design Online
This SEI course provides 60 cumulative hours of training, that may be used towards NABCEP certification purposes. This course is for the person who is interested in learning how to produce their own electricity from the sun. The course will be useful to the person seeking employment in the solar energy industry as well as the person seeking to apply solar electricity for his or her own use. Participants will learn the practical and economical design of photovoltaic power systems which are independent of the utility grid and those that are grid-tied.

EPA and Partners Kick Off Green Building Design Challenge
With the Lifecycle Building Challenge, the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency and partners are calling on the nation's architects, builders and others to participate in a competition seeking designs that facilitate reuse and minimize waste. The Lifecycle Building Challenge is a web-based competition open to all residents of the U. S. and its territories. The Challenge has been divided into a professional and a student tier. Within the professional category, entries are invited from all interested applicants, including architects, reuse experts, engineers, designers, planners, contractors, builders, educators, environmental advocates, etc. The student tier is open to students in any program enrolled at any educational institution. Teams and interdisciplinary groups are encouraged to submit entries. The maximum number of team members is five. Rewards for teams will be divided among the team members. The electronic registration deadline is April 15, 2007, and entries must be received electronically by May 15, 2007.
